This nonprofit serves the Upper Susitna Valley and visitors with 8 programs targeting different areas of the arts. The venue for the programs is the Sheldon Community Arts Hanger, pilot Don Sheldon’s refurbished airplane hanger, located in downtown Talkeetna. The summer 2011 season features an ongoing performance of a locally-adapted, produced and acted play, “How to Make Love Like an Alaskan… Sleepless in Soldotna” – showing Sun - Wed 6-7:30pm. Outside the Hanger in the summer, is the Open Air Market which features hand-made locally-produced arts and crafts. The market is open from 10am – 6:30pm Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. Visitors to the Hanger are also welcome during office and gallery hours Mon – Fri 10am-2pm.
