Since the days when Talkeetna was a trading post for local trappers it’s charm and attraction remains.

We at Frontier Gifts honor this heritage in stocking handmade gifts, jewelry, artifacts and art. Housed in the TALKEETNA TRADING POST which, as in days past, offers everything from food and drink to ivory and gold trading. You will even find gold nuggets from local miners. Yes, gold mining is alive and well in Alaska.

Owners, Cody Shaffer and Lauren Kane search throughout Alaska to bring you unique and interesting gifts many hand made by Alaska Natives.

Many items such as, our hand made knives, are of heirloom quality and will be passed down for generations to come.

You will find everything from kitchen items to old traps. From antique guns and native artifacts to old snow shoes which add a lore to any home or cabin hearkening back to days of old. Who knows maybe some old trapper wore them running his trap line before the days of the modern snow mobile or maybe he carried them on his dog sled…just in case.

And books…all written by Alaskan authors, will carry you back in time when Alaska was being settled or amuse and intrigue you with it’s tales of life on the Last Frontier or interactively entertain the grand-kids.

We have it all and in these times we keep our prices very affordable. So, come and browse our newly expanded store where you can eat, drink and shop for that special keepsake.
