Foodies’ Delight on this Farm-to-Table Tour.

You want to know the best kept secret about Alaska? We grow the sweetest vegetables, we brew the tastiest beer, and we know how to use the forest and fields around us to sustain our people.  Oh, and we eat like kings.  Talkeetna Farm and Food Tour honors the spirit of an Alaskan home garden and kitchen.

Operating weekly from June 11- September 15, from 11:30am-4:30PM Wednesday-Monday. Book the day in advance. Pick-Up available from the Talkeetna Railroad Depot (11:30), Talkeetna Lodge (11:45) or Flying Squirrel Bakery and Cafe (noon).

Vistors to Talkeetna get a unique opportunity visit a local farm, delight in an Alaskan grown meal, taste the sweet delicacies from a local birch tapping operation, and explore the beautiful brewing community at Alaska’s second largest brewery, Denali Brewing Company.


Eat, drink, touch, explore! Come and join us for a relaxing half day experiencing Alaska’s food and farm culture in Talkeetna, Alaska.

11:30 AM Pick Up At Train Station
If you’re coming off the Talkeetna train or you’re in town visiting, we’ll meet at the train station to depart for the half-day tour. You can get a pickup from Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge 11:45 or from the Flying Squirrel Bakery an noon. Please specify when booking.

Noon Lunch At Flying Squirrel Bakery
Delight in farmer and restauranteur Anita’s delicious Alaska inspired lunch.

1 PM Arrive at Birch Creek Ranch
Take a tour of the productive and unique homestead farm.

2:30 Delight in a Taste and Tour of Denali Brewing Company
Beyond the tasting room we’ll take a behind the scenes look at Alaska’s second largest brewery.

3:30 Kahiltna Birchworks Tapping and Tasting Facility
One of the first of its kind on earth, Kahiltna Birchworks specializes in the tapping and syrup production of Birch Trees in Alaska.

4:30 Arrive Back At Train Station
We’ll say our goodbyes, get you back on the train or to your hotel.
