Finish celebrating Talkeetna's Earth Day festivities by getting your shake, shimmy and roll on! Party continues at the Fairview Inn around 9pm.
This is a great Alaska Folk School project to celebrate Earth Day! Make a tote bag by reusing materials from home, or materials provided by the instructor. Class will be at the NSI building from 10am - 5pm. Click on title above for more details and registration links.
This Earth Day, explore whole grains in the kitchen at Flying Squirrel Bakery Cafe in an Alaska Folk School class. Owner Anita Golton will discuss baking techniques that work whole grains into your diet. Can whole wheat flour be used instead of white flour in a cookie recipe? Why does homemade whole wheat bread come out so dense? What can be done with left over cooked quinoa? Class is from 1pm - 4pm.
