Standing Committees 2009-2010 01/01/2010 | by Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Time Committment: 6+ hours Chair: Trisha Costello Members: Charlie Loeb, Cheryl Anderson, Lauren Kane, Fernando Salvador, Brian McCullough, Sharon Montagnino, Kathy Stoltz Meeting Time: Weekly Purpose: engages public resources to spur private investment identifies avenues whereas the Chamber may fulfill its mission to advance the industry of our area and recommends to the Board actions the Chamber may take Marketing and Tourism Time Committment: 5+ hours Chair: Scott Anderson Members: Lauren Kane, Todd Kingery, Suzy Kellard, Gretchen MacDonald, Kathy Stoltz, Sandra Loomis Meeting Time: Third Thursday monthly, 5:00 p.m., Swiss Alaska Purpose: represents Chamber at trade shows, organizational meetings and public events prepares Bed Tax grant requests manages advertising/underwriting Talkeetna Town and Trail Map monitors published guidebooks/articles for Talkeetna information accuracy solicits event information for Winterfest Calendar of Events Membership and Community Relations Time Committment: 5 hours Chair: Todd Kingery Members: Paul Pesta, Lisa Caldwell, Holly Stinson, Geri Denkewalter Meeting Time: Quarterly Purpose: produces the Chamber Quarterly newsletter solicits membership from area businesses not currently members gathers comments and ideas from members determines speakers and meeting locations for the meeting season produces the Annual Banquet audits member lists and website listings for accuracy Scholarship Time Committment: 1-2 hours Chair: Gale Moses Members: Kel Jacobs, Beth Valentine, Geri Denkewalter, Jenny Krepel Meeting Time: Quarterly Purpose: develops and manages the scholarship program solicits funding presents and advertises scholarship program to potential participants publicizes names of awardees Finance Time Committment: 3 hours Chair: Kathy Stoltz Members: Sharon Montagnino Meeting Time: Monthly, half hour prior to Board Meeting Purpose: develops the Chamber’s financial policy and procedures ensures proper accounting of the Chamber’s money reviews the Treasurer’s reports monthly prior to teach meeting of the Board tracks financial trends and makes recommendations to the Board as necessary performs other finance-related tasks as requested by the Board manages issues related to gaming permit Events Time Committment: 5+ hours Chair: Kathy Stoltz Members: Todd Kingery, Scott Anderson, Lauren Kane, Suzy Kellard, Larry Dearman, Randy Cummins Meeting Time: Quarterly Purpose: Moose on Parade Town Christmas Tree Parade of Lights Chili Contest Quilt Raffle Taste of Talkeetna
