McKinley View B & B

Located at mile 113.6 on the Parks Hwy in Trapper Creek. We have four rooms with private baths each room has a queen size bed, coffee maker and a hair dryer. Our rooms also have an indoor and outdoor entrance, Satellite TV and wireless Internet service. We offer a full breakfast each day eggs, bacon, hash browns etc; breakfast is included in the price. We have 100 acres with a pond and awesome view's of MT. McKinley & The Alaska Range. We are only 2 1/2 hours north of the Anchorage Airport and 2 hours south of Denali National Park. Winter time is a great time to come visit us, we have trails that can take you right to the main Petersville trail system no reason to trailer anywhere but here. Check us out on TripAdvisor.

My wife and I stayed in the "Bear" room 7/1/09 en route to Denali N.P.. What a find! After a hectic (but fantastic) 7 day "Inside Passage" cruise this was the perfect spot to unwind for a night. It's a little over 1/2 way to Denali N.P. so we were able to catch our 1:30 helicopter flight tour in Denali with ease the next day. Rene and Rod are great hosts and breakfast was delicious...I'm craving those cheesy potatoes right now! We were fortunate enough to have great weather while traveling inland so we enjoyed spectacular views of Denali (Mt. McKinley) while we were there as well. The "computer room" was a nice added bonus as I was able to catch up on some emails. This place really is a hidden gem. Hope to be back some day....

My wife and I chose this basically because it was between Homer and Fairbanks while we were doing our own driving in Alaska. We had already stayed at Denali on a group tour and were looking for something a bit quieter and less pricey than a Denali lodge. To some it might seem "in the middle of nowhere." But the host suggested a great German (go figure) pizza place for dinner up the road. The setting is gorgeous with very spacious grounds. The house and rooms are quiet and immaculate. And the breakfast was plentiful and superb. I was able to use my laptopp computer while sitting on the back porch with stunning views (direct access from our room). All in all, this was just a lovely B&B at which to stay, with first class rooms, service and food.

Located about a mile south of Trapper Creek AK right off the Parks Highway, this little treasure should be considered by anyone who wants a great value in a B&B heading anywhere north of Anchorage. Renee, the host, is extremely gracious, and communicates very well in advance of your stay. The B&B is just as described. There are 4 rooms, two with an incredible view of Denali. The day I went, it was clear, and have attached a picture which does not do it justice! The rooms were clean, comfortable and fitting, esp considering the cost per night in winter is only $75. This includes a full breakfast of all you can eat eggs, bacon, toast, juice and coffee. That alone would run you $15 at most restaurants in AK. The breakfast was excellent. The two rooms in the back open up to a deck with chairs that allow you sit and enjoy the awesome view. Since it was -10F when I was visiting, I didn't spend too much time out back, but the view is truly amazing. I used this B&B as a staging site for viewing the Northern Lights, with its great exposure to the north. Unfortunately, mother nature did not cooperate the night I stayed, but I would come back here in a heartbeat. If I wanted to be super picky, the only possible complaint I might have were the somewhat thin walls allowing you to hear the people next door to you, but the positives of this B&B WAY outweigh the single negative I could find. I would 100% recommend this place. It is about 2 hours north of ANC, and two hours south of the entrance to Denali.

Renee was very nice, we stayed in "Mouse Room" w/ pond, swing and very large green grass field just outside out door. small room, small bathroom w/shower only, normal B&B breakfast she made: eggs, bacon, hash browns, bread, fruit, OJ, strong coffee.

Beautiful view of Denali if the mountain shows herself (it was rainy when we were there, no problem as we saw her clear of clouds 4 & 5 days before).

The house is beautiful and very clean, we stayed upstairs with our own private porch. We could walk out to a very large grassy area w/ a small pond and view of the near by mountains. Renee said the best time to see Mt. Denali is Jan - March. When back in Alaska I would book with them again......a positive experience.

Had the luck and pleasure of meeting Rod and Renee, the owners of McKinley View B & B. When I say luck, it is because our snow machine group got stuck out in the wilderness without a GPS. Not able to free my machine, my friend took my two boys out of woods and made his way to McKinley View B&B. They opened their home and took everyone in without question. Rod even got a party together and searched for me until 4 am. I had to stay out all night in the cold but was at ease because my boys were warm and safe and the most friendly hosts at any B&B I have ever stayed at.

This was probably our best stay in Alaska! We ended up spending an extra couple of days in Talkeetna since the weather around McKinley wasn't cooperating with our flight tour. We actually came back at the end of our trip and cancelled our last night in Anchorage to stay with Rod and Renee again! The property is HUGE with a lake and a nice swing to sit and contemplate life on. The home has been totally remodeled and everything is nice and new and clean. Renee and Rod are a total hoot and we had the best time talking to them! The rooms are spacious and clean with flat screen tv's and dish network programming. Breakfast was AMAZING! We loved everything Renee put out for us - and let me tell you - this is a HUGE breakfast! You won't go away hungry here. They have a nice common room with a computer and internet, a microwave, hot chocolate, popcorn, etc. Would absolutely recommend staying here!!
