Summer Things

Local flavor is abundant in town at pubs and eateries, which host local and visiting musicians. Dance in the streets, land a 50-pound salmon, and flightsee Denali, the tallest mountain in North America – all in one long summer day.

Summer Events
Summer events include "Moose on Parade", which kicks off in May presenting decorated "Moose on the Loose" all over Downtown Talkeetna and a few locations along the Talkeetna Spur Road. Pick up a map marking all Moose locations from one of the stores in town or at the Chamber's info kiosk located next to the Post Office. The event ends with the Moose Art parading on 4th of July followed by a fund-raising auction. This event benefits three organizations: the Talkeetna Historical Society, the Talkeetna Artists Guild, and the Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce. Why not take a moose back home?
